Metal Roofs - Renewable and Recyclable

Our metal roofing products are 100% recyclable. We start out with a steel core, and then coat it with a zinc or zinc-aluminum protective coating layer.

Steel: Most Recycled Material in North America

According to the Steel Recycling Institute, about 88% of all steel products are recycled into new products - an amazing reclamation rate! All steel manufactured contains at minimum 25% and as much as 95% recycled content.

This means that by using steel roofing materials, you are helping to preserve valuable resources. Many other roofing products such as asphalt shingles cannot be recycled, and thus add to the increasingly full landfills and waste precious resources.

Benefits of a Renewable, Recyclable Metal Roof System

The benefits of a renewable, recyclable roof system include:

• Reduce the Use of Wasteful Roof Materials. When you use metal roofing, you are saying no to other roofing products that harm our environment by using up precious resources such as petroleum.
• Reduce Energy Usage. Heat absorbing roofing materials such as asphalt shingles require your air conditioner and heater to stay on longer, wasting either gas or electric and increasing the demand for these important resources.
• Recycle Current Resources. Because steel roofing is 100% recyclable, if you ever need to replace it (which isn't likely), the steel can be completely melted down turned into new products.
• Reverse the Heat Island Effect. Because metal roofing is reflective and absorbs less heat than other roof materials, it helps to reverse the temperature increases in large cities caused by heat absorbing asphalt roofing and asphalt roads and driveways.
